17 x 19 Encaustic wax on wood panel.  Jiji Saunders' paintings explore the amalgamations of mood and landscape.  Working in the ancient medium of encaustic wax, she uses layer after layer to push the extremes of texture and motion, resulting in surfaces that are smooth as glass or carved and sculptural.
